1.2: When to Start Thinking About Transition
It's never too early to start thinking about transition!
While federal and state laws have requirements for when transition planning must begin, children with more complex conditions will need a thoughtful approach to their transition planning.
You can ask the IEP team to begin transition planning much earlier.
For children with neurological challenges, starting in high school may be too late for them to learn how to master needed skills.
Don't wait until the last minute ... start thinking about transition now.
